Bonaire Tech Diving

This was a second dive launching from the house reef at Captain Don's habitat. The first went to ~400 feet in depth, but on this second dive the deeper section beyond that point turned into a very gradual slope. For anyone interested in visiting this area, I suggest something more than a base layer for thermal protection and an alternate means to access/exit the deeper sections of the strait.

Dive time: 424 minutes
Max depth: 503 feet
Water temp: 82-64 F

LaJolla Submarine Canyon

The entry point for the dive was west of Lajolla Shores and north of the cove. The slope at this location averages 45 degrees. The pause in the descent at ~290 feet was due to warnings on my dive computer and needing to use the menu to check some values. The end location is where the wider canyon converges into one narrow branch which eventually meets up with the Scripps branch, but the bottom had a normal sandy bottom similar to other shallower locations in LaJolla.

Dive time: 149 minutes
Max depth: 517 feet
Water temp: 48-71 F
